Beethoven Symphony No. 8 Part 3 Continuing with our series of programs dedicated to Beethoven's Nine Symphonies. Today, Anna Ouspenskaya and Chris Ka Long Au explore Symphony No. 8. After watching part of the film, stay tuned for an engaging discussion. Beethoven’s Eighth is compact, direct, and structurally tight. It uses clear motivic cells, abrupt dynamic shifts, and concise thematic development. The work often reads as a study in controlled wit and mechanical precision. Beethoven fondly referred to it as "my little Symphony in F", distinguishing it from his Sixth Symphony, a longer work also in F. The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places loud, with many accented notes. Various passages in the symphony are heard by some listeners to be musical jokes. More about Architects of Music: https://www.youtube.com/@thearchitectsofmusic BEETHOVEN’S UNIVERSE In this ongoing series, Lawrence Rapchak examines each movement of Beethoven’s symphonies, revealing their inner structures and illuminating the architecture of each complete work. No other program about Beethoven’s symphonies has been created in this fashion, and it is our hope to present all nine of these masterpieces in the coming months. To accompany the audio in each episode, the Virtual Concert Halls team has created a visually engaging experience. The visuals include composer portraits, full scores and piano reductions with highlighted passages, performance photos, landscapes to support the narrative, and curated images of Beethoven himself. Orquesta Filarmónica Municipal de Guayaquil • Kaiden Griggs, Piano Presenting Music and Musicians Around the Globe Today we are following our filming crew on yet another exploration of Music and Musicians Around the Globe, the Orchestras Live Concerts Worldwide! This time we are in Guayaquil, Ecuador, with the magnificent Orquesta Filarmónica Municipal de Guayaquil, featuring young rising-star pianist Kaiden Griggs. 🎻 PROGRAM Felix Mendelssohn • Symphony in D Major A radiant, youthful symphony full of clarity, brilliance, and lyrical charm. Camille Saint-Saëns • Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 22 Soloist: Kaiden Griggs, piano About Kaiden Griggs Kaiden Griggs is a young rising-star pianist based in Vienna, Virginia. He began studying piano at age six and currently studies with Dr. Anna Ouspenskaya. In November 2024 he made his Carnegie Hall debut, performing Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2 with Orchestra Manhattan in Weill Recital Hall. Kaiden is a freshman at TJHSST, balancing his musical life with mathematics competitions and C-rated épée fencing. He now appears internationally with the Orquesta Filarmónica Municipal de Guayaquil. Why our crew is in Guayaquil? Because we are witnessing the joy and the power of musicians coming together as artists, as humans, and as international collaborators, creating something beautiful and hopeful in a world often marked by division. Music unites us. Music reminds us who we are. Music brings us together. Paducah Symphony Orchestra Virtual Concert Halls brings Orchestras LIVE performances to audiences around the Globe! Today's Broadcast features: Paducah Symphony Orchestra Roman Rabinovich, piano Ayla Moreno, piano Raffaele Livio Ponti, conductor The Carson Center for the Performing Arts The Paducah Symphony Orchestra (PSO) was founded in 1979 when a number of area musicians performed at the city's Summer Festival. That concert created enough enthusiasm to bring together a small group of founders who organized additional concerts. During the first two years, concerts were planned and performed one at a time as funds were raised. In the years since, the PSO has expanded its concert season to include seven classical concerts and three choral concerts. Many of the concerts now feature internationally recognized guest artists and local Paducah natives in the music performance industry. Dr. Jordan Tang conducted the orchestra for twenty-three seasons from 1987 to 2009. In the spring of 2010, the PSO appointed Raffaele Ponti as its new Artistic Director & Conductor. The mission of the PSO is to bring the rewards of great music to a growing and diverse regional audience. As the orchestra-in-residence at the Carson Center for the Performing Arts, the PSO encompasses a wide range of ensembles, including a professional orchestra, auditioned adult, youth & children choruses and other music education programs and services. The orchestra members, all paid professional musicians, are drawn from over 30 communities in Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Alabama. The audience is even more diverse, representing over 60 communities in a five state area. As the score and quality of the organization's programs have grown, so has its operating budget. From a $45,000 budget in 1981-82, the Paducah Symphony's operating budget has grown to over $2 million. For 45 years, the PSO has served as the premier musical organization in Paducah and the surrounding region, expanding its appearances through collaborations with community partners and enhancing the area's cultural reputation. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Heritage and Harmony: Silver Linings, an Album Spotlighting Music by Under- Represented Composers, Will Be Released on May 1st New EP Featuring AAPI/BIPOC Artists Aims to Promote Understanding and Tolerance and Combat Racism New York, NY—April 26, 2021 On May 1st, pianist and music producer Donna Weng Friedman will be releasing the EP album Heritage and Harmony: Silver Linings. The album, which will be available on Spotify, Amazon, Tidal and other online outlets, is intended as a response to the wave of violence against Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals, and aims to promote understanding and tolerance among people of all backgrounds. It features Ms. Weng Friedman and soprano Indira Mahajan performing music by composers Margaret Bonds, Beata Moon, Florence B. Price, and Chinary Ung. By listening to each track on Heritage and Harmony: Silver Linings, they can enjoy the glorious music of incredible but under-represented BIPOC composers and musicians while also making a small but valuable contribution to the AAPI community.” For more information, contact: Donna Weng Friedman donnawengfriedman@gmail.com Reproducir video Reproducir video 53:21 Sadie Goodman, flute - Sound Espressivo Laureates' Recital Program: 2:57 Jules Mouquet - La Flûte de Pan (I. - Virtual Live Performing FAQ | Sound Espressivo
Virtual Live performing - what can go wrong? What are the ways to prepare the troubleshooting so even the most complex live multicast will go smooth and stress-free?
