David Coleman – Trumpet Soloist and Chamber Musician
David has received broad recognition for his skills as a performing musician and teacher, performing and presenting well over 1000 programs during the past 30 years. He has commissioned and premiered numerous solo and chamber works by some of the most distinguished composers in the world. In 1980, David founded the chamber ensemble Top Brass, touring nationally and internationally as that ensemble’s leader for more than 25 years.
Mr. Coleman is a graduate of The Indiana University School of Music, where he received a BM along with the coveted Performer’s Certificate. He has won several national chamber music competitions, and his principal teachers include Allan Dean (Yale), Charles Gorham (Indiana University), Wayne Markworth, and Louis Davidson (Indiana University, Cleveland Orchestra). He has been represented by some of the most prestigious concert management firms in the U.S. Mr. Coleman holds a private pilot license and is a member of MENSA.
