Sergio Manteiga (born in Poulo, Spain, in 2005) is a Spanish trombonist. He began his musical studies in 2013 at the Professional Conservatory of Santiago de Compostela, where he started studying trombone.
From 2021 to 2023, he studied with Jon Etterbeek at the School of Advanced Musical Studies of Galicia. In 2023, he began his higher education studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders, and Remko de Jager.
In 2024, at the age of 19, he was appointed second trombone of the Basque National Orchestra. He regularly collaborates with orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Galician Symphony Orchestra.
In March 2025, he performed as a soloist with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra at the Musikverein in Vienna. He is currently continuing his studies at the Conservatory of Galicia with Juan Sanjuan and serves temporarily as principal trombone of the Basque National Orchestra.
