Czech pianist Kristina Henckel and Cuban pianist Amanda Virelles formed the 4HANDS Piano Duo in 2019. Their repertoire spans masterpieces from the Classical, Romantic, and 20th-century periods. Both began their performing careers in their home countries and completed doctoral degrees in piano performance and pedagogy in the United States.
In 2022, Kristina and Amanda were awarded the Grand Prize and named Artists of the Year by the International Youth Music Competition. They both hold full-time faculty positions in North Carolina—Kristina at Sandhills Community College and Amanda at Fayetteville State University. Their duo recordings are available on all digital platforms.
