Danlei Wang is a composer and cellist based in Los Angeles, California. Her music has been performed by ensembles including the World Youth Wind Symphony, the EAMA Resident String Quartet, and musicians from Interlochen and Juilliard.
She is the first prize winner of the Music Teachers’ Association of California Composers Today Competition and was named a semifinalist for the 2025 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Award.
Danlei’s work reflects a deep engagement with both instrumental color and emotional narrative, drawing on her experience as a performer. She currently serves as a Los Angeles Philharmonic Young Composition Fellow for the 2025–26 academic year.
