Born in Florence in 1976, he has conducted about 300 exhibitions so far, both in Italy and abroad. Experienced in the symphonic repertoire, chamber music and Opera. Freiles has offered collaboration by several theatres and opera companies. In cooperation with artists such as Dimitra Theodossiou, Alberto Gazale, Olga Guryakova, Rolando Panerai, Susanna Rigacci, Laura Brioli – he has directed several productions of the Complete Operas of Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Mascagni and Leoncavallo. In May 2013 he conducted Tosca in Salone dei 500 in Florence, in the presence of the President of the Senate President of Italian Republic Pietro Grasso, as well as numerous premieres by various composers, including Andrea Portera and Luciano Bettarini. He was assistant to Raymond Hughes – formerly Cantor at the Metropolitan Theatre in New York – and Alberto Veronesi. From 2009 to 2013 he has been choirmaster of the Cathedral of Prato and he promoted to National IRASE several musical projects for primary and secondary school and University. In 2009, he was finalist in the Fourteenth Edition of Prize for Opera Conductors Capuana in Spoleto and for ten years he has been Artistic Director of the Association OMEGA in Florence, officiated by Cesare Orselli. He has been Official Director of the New Europe Orchestra. Moreover he conducts Opera performances and he has contributed as Director for the staging of internationally renowned artists such as Vivien Hewitt and Alberto Paloscia. During the years, OMEGA has also organized seasons of symphonic and chamber concerts at the prestigious Auditorium Santo Stefano al Ponte Vecchio in Florence and a competition for opera singers officiated by Giovanna Lomazzi. Korea), Yerko Difonis - Piano (Chile), Ioana Gandrabur - Guitar (Canada), and Valérie Poisson - Soprano (Canada)—performing as soloists with the BMF Symphony Orchestra. Given that the UNESCO Secretariat and representatives from 195 UNESCO member states are among the invited guests, the festival at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris holds special significance as it coincides with White Cane Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of individuals who are blind or visually impaired, as well as recognizing the white cane as a vital symbol of blindness and a tool for independence. Through this event, we celebrate the achievements of blind musicians and demonstrate that they too can achieve independence and make significant contributions to society through music. Today's spotlight is on Dominika Zamara. Soprano Dominika Zamara gained musical recognition early in her native Poland. In 2007, she graduated (with honors) from the prestigious Wrocław University of Music, and directly went to Italy, in pursuit of higher artistic study. Having won a scholarship from the Verona State Conservatory, she performed in masterclasses with some of Italy’s most highly regarded operatic teachers. These include Alida Ferrarini, Bruno Pola, and Enrico De Mori — the latter being highly important for her future professional growth. Her operatic debut took place in 2010 as Mimi, in Puccini’s “La Boheme” under the direction of Maestro De Mori. Her outstanding vocal qualities, dynamic stage presence, and versatility in multiple genres (opera, lieder and Art song, chamber, and Contemporary music), quickly led to international performances across the globe — Europe, USA, Mexico, Argentina, China, South Korea and Australia. In addition to a broad repertoire — ranging from Baroque to Contemporary (with a propensity for the Mozartian, bel canto and contemporary repertoire), and singing in numerous languages — Zamara has been carrying out a special project: concerts presenting the arias of Vincenzo Bellini and the songs of Fryderyk Chopin — two composers united by a deep friendship and unique collaboration. In addition to her main role as Concert Artist, she has sought to broaden and combine aesthetically Arts, Culture, and Fashion by assuming the role of Brand Ambassador for the Mather Milani Cosmetic line (Italy), and has presented the highest achievements in fashion — featuring in concert, clothing by world renowned designers, including: Rosy Garbo, Ela Piorun, and Marta Jane Alesani. Aurelia made her orchestra debut with the Amati Orchestra in Lausanne, Switzerland, receiving nine curtain calls for her performance of Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major. She has also performed with the New Hampshire Philharmonic, the Fox Valley Symphony in Chicago, the Ashland Symphony Orchestra in Ohio, the Sempre Musick Symphony in Boston, the Metropolitan Symphony of New York, the Montgomery Symphony in Ohio, the NJ Virtuosi Sinfonietta in New Jersey, the SEEN Orchestra in Chicago, and the Manhattan Sinfonietta, the Northeastern Sinfonietta in Boston, and the NY Chamber Players at Carnegie Hall. Today's spotlight is on Anastasia Squires. In 2019, Mrs. Squires (Ganzenko) was named winner of the Aeolian Classics Emerging Artists Competition. As a part of her winnings, she performed numerous recitals at various venues in Illinois, and has had her debut CD produced on Aeolian Classics. Since beginning her flute studies at the age of four and winning her first international competition at the age of seven, Anastasiya Squires has blossomed into a young artist with continued successes in international performance venues and competitions. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees (cum laude) from the National Music Academy of Ukraine (named after Tchaikovsky) in her native Ukraine. Mrs. Squires received her post-masters Solo Performance Diploma, under the tutelage of Richard Graef (former Associate Principal Flute of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Mimi Tachouet (Lyric Opera Orchestra), and Eugenia Moliner (Cavatina Duo) at the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) of Roosevelt University. She has appeared as concerto soloist and recorded with numerous orchestras, including the Lviv Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the Symphony Orchestra of the National Music Academy of Ukraine, the Lviv Chamber Orchestra, and Illinois orchestras. Today's spotlight is on Anna Maria Mendieta. American harpist Anna Maria Mendieta enjoys a busy career as a soloist, orchestral musician, recording artist and teacher. She is the principal harpist with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera and has performed with many symphony orchestras and chamber music groups in the United States and abroad including the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera & Ballet, Russian National Orchestra, and Russian State Ballet. Ms. Mendieta is often featured performing the harp concerti of Joaquin Rodrigo as well as special tango arrangements created for her for harp & orchestra. She has received international recognition as a pioneer and “exceptional soloist” by the League of American Orchestras for her premiere of the tango music of Astor Piazzolla making history with the unique programming and use of harp in this musical style. Her Harp-Tango project “Tango Del Cielo” (Tango of Heaven) has become an award-winning international touring show, an award-winning album and the focus of a documentary film. As an internationally performed composer, Lopez traces his musical roots to a broad range of influences from his tenure as a graduate student at the University of California at Berkeley (USA), as a Tanglewood (USA) Fellowship Composer, and as recipient of the George Ladd Prix de Paris (1976-78). The eclectic nature of Lopez’s mature style stems no doubt from having worked directly with composers of diverse approaches and philosophies during his early years at Berkeley and Tanglewood: with Joaquin Nin-Culmell, Andrew Imbrie, Edwin Dugger, Olly Wilson, Earle Brown at UC Berkeley (1972-1978); and with Ralph Shapey and Theodore Antoniou during his Fellowship at Tanglewood (1979). Even more influential to Lopez’s artistic development was his residence in Paris where he had the opportunity to listen to many live concerts of contemporary European composers as well as to attend numerous events at IRCAM. One of Lopez’s creative principles is that Composition Is Performance On Paper! No doubt due to this enduring philosophy, his compositions were recognized early in his career: with several prizes and awards including the George Ladd Prix de Paris and the Lili Boulanger Memorial Prize; with numerous performances throughout the United States and Europe; and with an LP recording of a major work for Male Voice, Chamber Orchestra and Live Electronics released on the 1750 Arch Records label. In 2021 this work, The Ship of Death in an abbreviated version, was rereleased in digital format by PARMA Recordings on the Navona record label. This same work received its world’s premiere in 1979 in the Netherlands by the Dutch Radio Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Ernest Bour. Lopez is equally comfortable with experimental instrumental techniques (IFASIA for octet), electronics (Moment Pieces for Extended Piano), digital techniques (MISE-EN, Series I, II, and III), electroacoustics (The Ship of Death) and traditional methodologies (Visions des reflets et nocturnes for Piano and String Orchestra, Song of Thirteen Moons for Orchestra, and Aujourd’hui for Double String Orchestra). World premieres of recent works have been performed by the Sydney Contemporary Orchestra in Sydney, Australia (2017, 2018), the Ensemble MISE-EN in Seoul, South Korea (2018), and the Lviv Philharmonic Society in Lviv, Ukraine (2022). Navona Records released a recent work of Lopez, MISE-EN Series II Episode I for Amplified String Quartet and Acousmatic Sound, in July 2023. Navona also releases in January 2024 a piano solo piece from his series of piano pieces, Pieces From A Distant Land. Acclaimed pianist Anna Kislitsyna recorded this work in May 2023 at the beautiful Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Massachusetts for this release. Pianist Jennifer Wang premiered this same work shortly thereafter in June at the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York City during the Laureate Gala Performances produced by Progressive Musicians and Sound Espressivo. He has won second place in the Elite Music Competition for piano in 2020 and for violin in 2022. Also in 2022, Teddy performed at Lincoln center as a member of Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra, He is the concertmaster at his elementary school orchestra since grade four and sometimes performs as piano accompanist His teacher is Elizabeth Faidley. Outside of music activities, Teddy likes art, cooking and playing soccer. After taking over Atamian's career, (a career that began with winning 1st prize at the 50th Anniversary Naumburg Competitions (50th Anniversary Celebration, October 21, 2025)@ Carnegie Hall, a landmark Carnegie Hall Recital, several Lincoln Center and Town Hall appearances, the first-ever digital piano recording release on RCA Red Seal (and incidentally, performing the only triple world-premiere [Carnegie Hall (Live), RCA (Recording) and PBS (TV)] in musical history of a major musical cornerstone work, the solo piano version of "The Rite of Spring") Jack was successful in garnering hundreds of orchestral engagements (which included concerto performances with Maazel, Comissiona, Leinsdorf, Zinman, Rozsnyai, Samuel, Schwarz, Hendl, DePreist, Meier, Nowak, Amram, de Coteau, Rivest, Torkanowsky, McGlaughlin, Morgan, Alessandro, Hovhaness, Semkow, Falletta and Mata to name a few) and two commercial recordings on Delos for Atamian. Artists that he has worked with closely include, Bolet, Arrau, Serkin, Romero, Mintz, Tree, Mannheimer, Mann, Brendel, Kim, Olevsky and Tortelier. Rainer Stegmann is a concert guitarist, composer and music educator. He studied in Frankfurt am Main at the Musikhochschule and at the Dr.Hoch's Conservatory. Rainer Stegmann performs as a soloist, in various chamber music casts and with orchestra. His musical focus is clearly in the field of new music. He wants to prove that contemporary music is not just for experts. Rainer Stegmann has performed numerous rarely heard contemporary chamber music and solo works for guitar. His CDs 'Soundscapes I, II and III' published by the classical label GENUIN received excellent reviews and established Rainer Stegmann as a globally respected interpreter of contemporary music. Rainer Stegmann has been active in composition since his youth. His teacher at the Frankfurt University of Music was Prof. Jürgen Blume. After that, he continued his autodidactically training, but also in courses, e.g. with Leo Brouwer. In his compositions, he often mixes different musical styles. He loves the strict classical forms as well as the free, quasi-improvisatory of contemporary music, but also rock and jazz. From Auditioning, to intensive study, to an Interview with Steve Robinson – Today’s program is about a musicians’ journey. Learn musicians’ stories, what brought them to music, what was their own journey to Carnegie Hall. Was it "practice-practice-practice"? Or is there more to it? Brazilian violinist Dr. Marcio Candido has performed extensively worldwide as soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician. His most recent album, Brazil x Argentina, was awarded several prizes, including a silver medal at the Global Music Awards and a nomination for the Anchorage Press Person of the Year 2020. Additionally, Dr. Candido is a prizewinner of several international competitions—the most recent one the American Prize. In 2021 he made his solo debut at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. His solo performances with Orquestra Filarmônica do Rio de Janeiro, Orquestra Sinfônica da Bahia, Orquestra de Câmara da UNIRIO, Orquestra Filarmônica Adventista do Brasil, New England Repertory Orchestra, Southern Adventist Symphony Orchestra, and the Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra were very well received. Dr. Candido studied with Brazilian violinist Paulo Bosisio at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he received his Bachelor degree. In the United States, he studied with Eric Rosenblith at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, where he received his Master of Music degree and was a recipient of a special scholarship to study with legendary violinist Roman Totenberg. He concluded his training with Peter Zazofsky at Boston University, where he received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Featuring the amazing violinist Steffani Kitayama Bolkovsky of the Bayberry String Quartet - we have the unique opportunity to hear one of the most innovative, modern string quartets in the U.S. Hosted by Chris Ka Long Au, this will be such a fantastic interview as we dive into how a string quartet functions these days, what kind of repertoire is possible, how to manage 3 other performers with their own careers, and what the future holds for classical music groups and ensembles! The Bayberry String Quartet is emerging onto the concert scene with upcoming appearances at Carnegie Hall and the Chautauqua School of Music. Other recent concerts include performances at the at Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society’s CMS Kids, Ridotto Series, White Lake Chamber Music Festival, Chamber Music @ AEIVA, and Fairlane Music Guild, among others. Only in their sixth season, they have enjoyed residencies at the STEP Birmingham Chamber Music Workshop, Peaks to Plains Institute in Colorado, and PhoenixPhest in Michigan. They have an innovative virtual presence through online collaboration and videos, including work with arranger Rami Vamos and drummer Pete Siers to perform “Frankenstein” by the Edgar Winter Group. BSQ also created a virtual chamber music approach in a program called PhoenixPhest Virtual where they coached student and professional groups across North America in a dozen online workshops. Through their individual and collaborative work, the four musicians have impacted the lives of thousands of musicians. In 2024, BSQ will release an album of early Mozart quartets. Featuring the incredible Anne de Boysson composer from France. Anna Ouspenskaya will interview Anne and host a show that includes Anne's original compositions Spirale (III), Fusion, The taste of Apples is Red. Anne de Boysson was awarded a Laureate 2024 title by Sound Espressivo and Progressive Musicians, and her piece "Metamorphose" was performed at Carnegie Hall on April 1, 2024 by the Austrian flutist Elisabeth Möst and the Juilliard harpist Alisa Sadikova. ------- Winner of the 1st prize at the International Competition "Music and Earth" of Sofa in composition in 2013, Anne received a state commission from France for a quintet for cellos as part of the commemoration of the centenary of the 1914-1918 War. This piece was created in the presence of more than 80 UNESCO ambassadors. Fours years later, she received another state commission from the Army Brass Band, who performed at the annual Gala Concert of the Land Forces 2018 (France). Winner of numerous residences highlighting composers in France, Israël and Belgium, Anne has the chance to be regularly invited festivals to participate in professional meetings and as jury. With her eclectic background, Anne has composed the music for some ffty audiovisual projects, including the feature flm "The Taste of Apples is Red", which won a special mention for original music at the Festival International Music & Cinéma de Marseille in 2023 (France), and the short flm "Gauche Touché", which won the prize for best music at the Festival International Long Story Shorts in 2021 (Romania). She is currently working on a Georgian feature film by Mari Gulbiani, produced by Midi Films. Anne de Boysson released in 2021 her second album entitled « Fusion » of her own compositions and regularly performs in recitals (France, Switzerland, Germany, Sicilia, Sardinia) as pianist and composer.
